Flavored Butter

Make your own Compound Butter with SAGANÀ Coconut Spread

Compound butter is probably one of the best things that you can do in the kitchen and one that you can use extensively for all kinds of dishes. As a typical ingredient used in French cooking, this is usually made with a pound of butter mixed in with other ingredients like garlic, herbs, spices, citrus, and more. Even butter mixed in with just another flavorful ingredient is already considered compound butter. The possibilities are just endless!

If you'd also like to lengthen the freshness of your favorite herbs and spices, making compound butter combined with some rich and buttery SAGANÀ Coconut Spread is the way to go.

Aside from being a quick flavor enhancer on top of your favorite meat and seafood-based dishes, it's also a great and flavorful base ingredient for many soups and stews. If you're feeling a bit saucy, you can even use cold compound butter as a finishing ingredient to your favorite sauces.

Making compound butter is very simple and easy to prepare using SAGANÀ Coconut Spread and a handful of ingredients, or you can even try and experiment using different flavor combinations. Once your compound butter mixture becomes firm, slice them into rounds and use them softened at room temperature for cooking and baking.

How to make compound butter:

  1. Allow butter to come to room temperature. It should be soft enough to push down using your fingertip, but not melted.
  2. Using a food processor, whip butter until smooth and fluffy. You may also do this manually with a fork in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add your mix-ins and combine until well incorporated.
  4. Using a rubber spatula, transfer seasoned butter to a square parchment paper. Shape and roll into a log. Fold the ends of the parchment paper to close and secure with kitchen twine or rubber band.
  5. Refrigerate until firm.
